The DigitalOcean Newsletter: Hacktoberfest Edition
Newsletter looking a bit different than usual?
That's because this edition is dedicated to Hacktoberfest, DigitalOcean's October-long celebration of open source software. Hacktoberfest brings developers from all skill levels (and corners of the world) together to contribute to open source projects they're passionate about.
Read on to learn more about our open source resources, program offerings, and environmentally friendly rewards you'll love to brag about with your friends.
Welcome to Hacktoberfest 2020
- Hacktoberfest blog post: This year has definitely come with its fair share of challenges and, with them, changes. To accommodate our new world and bring Hacktoberfest to as many people as possible, we've made some updates to the program.
- Warm welcome from Yancey: Yancey Spruill, DigitalOcean's CEO, shares his thoughts about Hacktoberfest and welcomes all participants to join this year's challenge.
- Pick trees, not tees: To reduce our environmental impact and give participants a choice of rewards for completing the challenge, we're offering the option to plant a tree instead of receiving a limited edition T-shirt.
As always, if you're interested in hearing about our product updates, check out the latest products and features blog post.
