Language jam
Recently we announced that we'd be hosting a new code jam to see who can create the best programming language, and it starts tomorrow Monday the 10th. To get started, create a team using our new teams feature, add your friends, then add the team to the language jam, and you're ready to compete! The jam will end on August 31st, giving you 21 days to create and submit a programming language. It can be a general purpose language, or have a specific use case in mind. We can't wait to see what you create! For more information on how to sign up, click here.
>replers.join { |v| v.is? "hacker" }
Educate yourself
Our new Repl.it programming course with the founder of Quizlet, Andrew Sutherland, has started! It's not too late to join, sign up at any time and you'll get access to all previous programming lessons, as well as future lessons to come. This opportunity is not one to pass up, and for more information about the live tutorials and pricing (free for hackers!) click here.
>play repl[:music]
Music
We added one of the things many of has asked for -- you can now listen to your repls! Or rather, you can play music on any repl and the audio will be sent back to your computer! Right now we have official libraries to do this for Python 3 and Node.js, however you can create your own library using our detailed documentation. For more information on how you can jam out with Repl.it, click here.
>include AI(Replit)
AI repl bot
AI has come so far, and is becoming increasingly capable every day. OpenAI is letting companies test out their GPT-3 AI, a large language model trained on the whole web. At Repl.it, we're experimenting with coding applications of this technology. We believe it has the potential to make programming more enjoyable. In one of our experiments, we built a chatbot that could explain what our code did, how we could improve it, and helped us locate errors -- the possibilities are endless! For more information on what it is and how it works, and its implications on the future of coding be sure to checkout this post!
>closing = File.read "python.tricks"
python bye
Thanks for reading this week's newsletter! As per usual, we have something cool to show you before you go! If you're a python programmer, you'll find James Gallagher's common python error explanation tutorial helpful, as it explains what the error means, how the error can occur, and what the solution is! So if you find yourself stuck, your code won't run, maybe give this article a look! This concludes this week's newsletter, we can't wait to see your lovely face again next week! Stay safe!

As always, please feel free to give us feedback on our feedback boards!

Best,
Nathan & the rest of the Repl.it Team
